Luis Enrique Fernández Puente


Luis Luis Enrique Fernández Puente was born in Miami of Cuban parents. He grew up in New Jersey (Union City and Elizabeth) and graduated from Elizabeth High School. As an artist he is self-taught; his only formal art lessons were received in High School. Luis Enrique started drawing at the age of six, by age ten he was drawing caricatures of his teachers at Lafayette Middle School, he has continued making art since then. In High School he discovered grafitti, which he practiced and continues to have an influence on his work. His favorite painter is the Austrian Gustav Klimt, whose work he admires for the intensity of its drawing and colors. Luis Enrique has participated in five group exhibitions in both Elizabeth and Union County.

Luis Enrique Fernández Puente nació en Miami de padres cubanos. Creció en New Jersey, primero en Union City y después en Elizabeth, donde se graduó de Elizabeth High School. Es un pintor auto-didacta; las únicas clases formales de arte las recibió en High School. Luis Enrique comenzó a dibujar a los seis años, a los diez ya estaba haciendo caricaturas de sus maestros en la escuela Lafayette y desde entonces sigue creando arte. En High School descubrió el graffiti, el cual practicó y continúa siendo una influencia en su pintura. Su pintor favorito es el austriaco Gustav Klimt, cuya obra el admira debido a la intensidad de su dibujo y colores. Luis Enrique ha participado en cinco exposiciones colectivas en Elizabeth y el condado de Union.
