Luis Enrique Fernández Puente was born in Miami of Cuban parents. He grew up in New Jersey (Union City and Elizabeth) and graduated from Elizabeth High School. As an artist he is self-taught; his only formal art lessons were received in High School. Luis Enrique started drawing at the age of six, by age ten he was drawing caricatures of his teachers at Lafayette Middle School, he has continued making art since then. In High School he discovered grafitti, which he practiced and continues to have an influence on his work. His favorite painter is the Austrian Gustav Klimt, whose work he admires for the intensity of its drawing and colors. Luis Enrique has participated in five group exhibitions in both Elizabeth and Union County.

Es un pintor auto-didacta; las únicas clases formales de arte las recibió en High School.
