Marti – A Life in Exile Is a biographical documentary short film that highlights moments and aspects in the extraordinary life of the humanitarian, romantic, philosophical writer and Cuban Revolutionary poet Jose Marti. The innovative head of the Cuban revolutionary revolt against Spain in the last quarter of the 19th century. Plus the film illustrates some of Marti’s writings, essays and poetry as they advanced Spanish prose into the modern era and the coming of age of the new world (America) during the time of the industrial revolution where through his writings Marti acted as a bridge between North, Central and South America and not only introduced each other, country to country but neighbor to neighbor as well.
Overall the documentary tells the short life of Marti from his birth in Havana, the commencement of his nationalistic fervor in his pre-teen years, his travels throughout Europe and South America and the fifteen years that he lived in New York before his final and fateful return to Cuba.
Marti – Una Vida en el Exilio es un corto documental biografico que reslata momentos y aspectos de la extraordinaria vida del humanitario, poeta, filosofo y revolucionario Cubano Jose Marti. En el mismo se evalua su contribucion a la independencia de Cuba durante el ultimo cuarto del siglo siecinueve. Y lo introduce como la cabeza principal de la Guerra de independencia contra Espana.
El documental tambien ilustra algunos de los ensayos y poesias que hacen a Marti uno de los precursors del modernismo en la lengua Espanola. Tambien hace referencia a muchos de sus escritos y articulos periodisticos que lo convierten en un Puente importante entre Norteamerica en creciente desarrollo y Sur America en busca de su independencia economica y politica de la gran metropolis Espanola.
El documental – sobre todo – ensena la vida de Marti desde nacimiento en La Habana, el desarrollo de su fervor nacionalista desde sus anos de estudiante, sus viajes por Europa y Sur America – cuando a traves de sus escritos – se convierte en un Puente de ideas, entre Norte, Centro, y Sur America, que no solo los conecta pais con pais, sino como vecino a vecino tambien.
